I love my bore scope I am a everyday mechanic and use it to look inside engines. I have sent it down a few spark plug holes. it works great. you can submerge the cable into solvents because it uses fiber optics. so there is no electrical charge in the cable. I have submerged it in gasoline and motor oil. if the motor oil is black then it does not work so well. I have not used it in diesel fuel yet or thicker oils like 90 weight. I have also not sent it down an intake manifold yet to inspect valve seats. I am not sure if you could see it that well. it is very flexible but sometimes hard to control. it works best in pipes that have nice radius's. it has a replaceable light bulb in the handle. you can also focus the lens just like a camera. I love mine

After buying and returning the GRIP set, I ordered these.

What a difference.This set is night and day better than the other.

Handles screw in straight, casting marks are mostly ground away, and the shank for the air hammer actually fits like it's supposed to.

Well worth the money to get this kit over the other.Very satisfied.

As a side note, on the back of the package label, it indicates that the end of each handle (or hammer adapter) has a point at the end which drives the tool, rather than driving by the threads.This should prevent thread deformation under high impact.Very nice touch.

Review of Air Hose 360 Degree Swivel Connector - 3/8" NPT

These swivels rotate on two axes and allow your air hose to reach your air tool's air input port from any angle without binding. This means you won't have to fight the stiffness of the hose while trying to hold or position the air tool. Once you have these, you'll wonder how you got along without them. I've installed them on almost all of my air tools.

Make sure when you order these swivels that you order the correct size for your tool. They come in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT. These sizes refer to the inside diameter of the fitting. The most common size on hardware store air tools is 1/4". The larger sizes are found on tools requiring substantial airflow to operate properly like large grinders.

Also make sure if you have a high-flow air tool that you aren't using the tiny quick-connect fittings that seem to be the default on most hardware store air tools. These fittings have only a 1/4" air passage and will restrict the airflow and performance of a high-flow tool. You should also be using a minimum of 3/8" ID hose (1/2" would be better) with the bigger tools if you want the performance you paid for. I use the 3/8" (P-Style) quick connectors on all my air tools and I use 1/2" hoses for most applications.

Note that there are knock-offs of these connectors made by Dyna-Flo and some no-name manufacturers. While Dyna is a quality manufacturer of air tools, their swivel connectors are made of plastic and won't last as long as the Milton brand which are machined from billet aluminum. The others fail and start leaking at the seals in even light-duty use. I'm replacing them all with Milton brand when they fail. Buy the Milton's and you'll be happier in the long run.

This item does what an 18v cordless drill is supposed to do.Nice feel. Chuck seems to be well constructed.NOT variable speed. Power is adequate (I used it to run 2" decking screws into treated lumber and it was lugging down a bit, but drove them in as demanded).Typical of Great Neck tools, this one seems well built and designed and comes at a very reasonable price.Certainly adequate for the home mechanic/repairman.My only beef is that, currently, it seems to be impossible to locate a replacement/backup battery pack.On the other hand, most 18v battery packs cost at least as much as this whole drill kit, so I suppose one could just buy a whole extra kit (not a bad idea).I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Review of Moroso 62191 Blue Steel Degree Wheel

First off, this is the largest wheel I could find, and was much cheaper than the closest other one, which was an open-face design. It's huge size will give you 1/4 degree accuracy. I bought a really nice adjustable pointer to go with it off Ebay, and that worked out great as well. No more worrying about whether or not I bumped the coat hanger pointer.

The only down side is that there are only 2 crank sockets available from Moroso... small and big block chevy. Also, they are more pricey.

I bought a comp cams SBC socket, which fit my Ford modular V8 perfect, and was cheaper. It isn't exactly the perfect size, but it is very very close. Just be a little tiny bit careful to try and center the wheel on the comp cams socket, lest you end up out of round.

The sheer size of this wheel provides much better accuracy. But I doubt you would be able to use it under the hood of very many cars. I used it on an engine stand, and loved it. It comes with several adapters too, for using it without the crank socket. Haven't tried them.

Review of 40 Piece GearDriver Master Set

Really nice set. The shafts are typical gearwratchet, no pits, sand or grinder marks. Beautiful bright chrome. Drivers use 1/4" drive just like snap on's. You can use these shafts with snap on's new drivers and save big $$$.

The drivers are quite substantial, heavy and solid feeling, covered with (neoprene ?) rubber just like snap on's. The shafts seat 1" or so deep in the driver which should provide good torque strength. The ratchet mechanism is very fine toothed, almost liquid, and provides the same solid feel as snap on's for a fraction of the price: 1/4 (street) -> 1/6 (new on ebay).

My only complaint is that the collar that changes the ratchet direction feels cheap when you turn it. The collar feels like the one on a $2 Sears "companion" driver. This is a total disconnect with the rest of the tool. I called KD and complained about it. If they fix that I wouldn't even consider the snap on drivers.

As it is, snap on has an incredibly solid feel, including the direction collar and may still be the way to go for those who care to pay the difference in cost. By way of comparison, 3 snap on drivers and 6 shafts will set you back ~$250.

Despite my misgivings on the direction collar, I don't think that it is really as flimsy as it feels; the drivers will probably perform and last as long as snap on's. It's just really annoying considering how well executed all the other gearwratchet/geardriver tools are.

Well, you get what you pay for.I find the punch to be minimally capable in marking keys - only with great effort will it punch the letter into a key.My 6'+ frame bearing down on it to get the letter into the key has caused the magnet holder part of the punch to crumble (still works tho).That being said, it didn't cost a whole lot and (barely) does what I want it to do, so it did solve a problem.I think if I had it to do over, I would look harder for some kind of tool that could really press the letters/numbers into the keys instead of relying on me sweating bullets to get them to imprint.Overall ok for the low cost.

Review of Great Neck 28916 Laser Etched Tool Set

I needed a set of cheap sockets for work....I have nice name brand wrenches and sockets but needed a small set of sockets and wrenches that I could afford to abuse or lose...or get stolen by some of the slackjaw sobs I work with.....

This set of 20.00 sockets and ratchet is a very nice set....lifetime warranty...fully polished nice looking ratchet...the plastic socket and ratchet holder is nice to...I can carry this in my maintenance tool bag without taking up a lot of space or hang it on the side with a wire tie. The ratchet feels professional...as good as any SK I own....better than craftsman....lot better than kobalt which is supposedly made by snap on.

Its a good socket set for anyone needing something to have around or for someone like me who will likely use it on a daily basis....not for heavy duty work...but for everyday work.

I used it tonight in conjunction with a great neck set of fully polished box end wrenches that I purchased along with the socket set and they both performed well tightening and loosening several sizes of nut and bolt combinations...

My only complaint and the reason I didn't give it five stars is that the kit does not come with, in my opinion, a proper case.It comes with a blow-molded case with no top/lid, so everything is held in by the little nubs.I'm not very confident that the case will hold up to abuse.With that being said, I use this thing with a four pound sledge and not a mark on any of the pieces, so the hard bits seem to be a-ok.

I purchased this from CostCo solely for the small screwdriver set. I could not find a set from the local hardware stores and decided to risk the $18 asking price.

For the price I figured they would be made of cheese and simply shred when attacking anything but a loose screw.
Since using all the screwdrivers I have been extremely pleased with them - they have held up to all the "around the house" jobs I've had to do. I wouldn't be repairing any cars with them though, but that was not what I bought them for.

The small set has a good sized holder - one that I can actually grip and apply a reasonable amount of rotational force (torque). Other sets I've owned have always seemed to have such small shafts that I cannot either grip them or apply the right amount of pressure. The bits too are not the fragile ones I've been used to in the past.

The three larger screwdrivers were the icing on the cake. Each has a barrel of bits in the handle and the two large ones both have extenders. All three have ratcheting mechanisms. They're not the best screwdrivers I've ever owned, but I tend to pull them out first when working around the house purely because of the bit access. I was willing to pay the asking price solely for the smaller set - the fact that I got three good larger screwdrivers was a bonus.

I primarily work on my two Hondas (Acura Integra, and Honda S2000) and took a chance and purchased this product with no prior reviews. Thus far I've only had a chance to try it out on the front upper ball joints of my Acura Integra and I'm happy to report that it works as described. Tool kit is very comprehensive for the $$.I like the soft case for use on my boat.Has enough room for couple pairs of pliars.Owned the Stanley 87-195 prior but it grew legs:(This kit was half the price with more tools.Only down point is the zipper is weak and a little tempermental.I ordered two since the price was right and one had bad zipper, Amazon made good on it though.$.20 more in production cost for a YKK zipper would make this case bulletproof and a five star.Picture is hard to see but it does have a 3/8" drive.

Review of Williams Snap On Master Set 1,390 Piece Mammoth Tool Set WSC-1390TB

This appears to be a very large Williams tool set - in fact the largest I have seen offered in a complete form.For those of you who do not know, Williams is a company related to Snap On - normally marketed to their industrial tool customers.Snap On is generally considered to be among the finest, if not the finest, maker of hand tools widely available.However this set appears to NOT be Snap On - but rather - Williams.The comparative difference in my opinion between a Cadillac and a Pontiac.

Regardless whether these are Williams full Snap On tools - they will be of good quality and will likely hold up to a lifetime of use.

But at over $40,000? Go to the Snap On website on the internet and price these full tools on their site, paying full retail, and you can likely come close to a building a similar set for comparable money.Considering you can that way buy only the tools you really need right now - and buy the rest if and when you need them - undoubtedly you will spend a lot less money than - $40,000!

I can not say anything bad about the quality of Williams tools - overall they are very good and I in fact have a few of them in my toolbox - along with Snap-On, MAC, MATCO, Cornwell, Proto, Armstrong, SK and other high quality brands.Williams Tools are in my opinion approximately equal to the Proto or Armstrong brands - but not quite up to par with Snap-On, Mac, Matco, or Cornwell.That is my honest impression.

What I absolutely do not agree with is that it is "better to have a tool and not need it - than need it and not have it".If you will need a tool - 95% of the time you have an idea - well in advance.If you do not - then - for that other 5% of the time - is it really better to tie up the amount of money of a new pickup - forever - just in case?Or would you rather postpone the job until tomorrow - order what you need - get the tool overnight - and save thousands of dollars?

Decent sockets. They should hold up great for occasional use and maybe heavy use.

The case is a joke, unfortunately - unless you use wall pegs. You're better off with the old fashioned long, metal case. If you already have one, good for you. Enjoy!
